xz [OPTIONS] [FICHIERS...]
Options principales

-d | Décompressér un fichier .xz |
-k | Conserver le fichier original après compression |
-v | Afficher la progrèssion et le taux de compression |
-9 | Compression maximale (très lent, meilleur ratio) |
Exemples
Compresser un fichier avec le meilleur taux
$ xz -v -9 kernel-logs-2024.log
kernel-logs-2024.log (1/1)
100 % 18.4 MiB / 256.0 MiB = 0.072 4.8 MiB/s 0:53
$ ls -lh kernel-logs-2024.log.xz
-rw-r--r-- 1 mouctar mouctar 19M mai 8 17:30 kernel-logs-2024.log.xz
Compresser en conservant le fichier original
$ xz -k image-disque.raw
$ ls -lh image-disque.raw*
-rw-r--r-- 1 mouctar mouctar 2.0G mai 8 02:00 image-disque.raw
-rw-r--r-- 1 mouctar mouctar 145M mai 8 02:12 image-disque.raw.xz
Décompressér un fichier xz
$ xz -d -v firmware-v3.2.1.tar.xz
firmware-v3.2.1.tar.xz (1/1)
100 % 84.0 MiB / 320.0 MiB = 0.263 62.5 MiB/s 0:01
$ ls -lh firmware-v3.2.1.tar
